To design like Constance Spry…”it means bouts with the brambles, flirtations with ferns, and carnival with cabbages.”
-Beverly Nichols, Excerpt from ‘How to do the Flowers’ by Constance Spry

About the Workshop

Constance Spry (1886-1960) considered the Godmother of sustainable floristry, was a British social worker turned elite floral designer, author and educator who was known for using unconventional elements that could easily be grown and found at home. She became the florist to Queen Elizabeth while breaking the boundaries of prejudice and class within the floral industry.

For this workshop, Melissa will guide you to create your own elevated design using Constance’s preferred mechanics and design techniques while sharing tips and stories about Constance’s incredible life.

Take your design home along with two professional images of your work!

Sculpting with Nature - From the Ground Up Floral

Elevate your floral artistry by moving beyond traditional foam or vase. Join us for a hands-on workshop dedicated to European natural bouquet armatures, a sustainable design philosophy pioneered by legendary German Master Florist Gregor Lersch. In this session you will learn to build an intricate structure using only organic and biodegradable materials, allowing your floral compositions to dance within a sculptural framework. This workshop is best suited for those with some prior experience making bouquets.

You will take home your creation in a glass vase, and have the option to recieve two professional photos of your work.
