Display your flowers in a hand made ceramic bud vase you build!  Each participant will design and create a white stoneware bud vase using a slab build method. You’ll learn the basics of rolling slabs, using a template and successfully attaching clay together.  Ideas for adding surface design will be discussed if you’d like to embellish your forms. 

Once the pieces have dried, Dannielle will fire and apply clear glaze to the vases and participants will collect their bud vase from SGM in 2 weeks. SGM will have a selection of complementary stems available for attendees to take home with their vase.

Celebrate Winter Solstice by adorning your own Yule Log. “Yule” comes from the old Norse word, Jol, meaning festivals, or parties. To celebrate the rebirth of the sun and the return of lengthening days, families would adorn sometimes an entire tree trunk that would be kept burning for 12 days of Yuletide for good luck and protection. The ashes from the log were then powdered over fields to increase their fertility.
