Jello Mold Farm
About Us
Jello Mold Farm takes its name from a building in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood that Diane once covered with 400 copper-hued Jello molds of all shapes and styles. Dennis was a founder of Tickle Tune Typhoon, a much loved and nationally renowned children’s music company.
After years of estate gardening in and around Seattle, the couple yearned to put their creative energy into a venture that combined land stewardship with an obsession for plants. Jello Mold Farm began selling cut flowers in 2008 and by 2009, the farm was making regular deliveries to Seattle florists and retail customers. In a quest to make a sustainable living by farming, they contributed their creative energies to become a driving force behind founding the co-op with other like-minded growers in 2011.
Over the years Jello Mold Farm has evolved out of annual and focal crops, finding its niche growing perennials and woody plants, especially seasonal foliages and textures. Education is threaded through everything Diane and Dennis do as farmers. Over the years, they have mentored many next-generation flower farmers through internships on the farm, employment and leadership in the industry. Most recently, Diane spear-headed the creation of the cooperative’s book, Floral Standards, a practical guide for harvesting and delivering professional quality products.
Growing Practices
